The Arlington Turkey Trot Returns for In-Person Running on Thanksgiving

  |     |   Uncategorized

Last year was the first time in its then-15 years of existence that the Arlington Turkey Trot didn’t happen in a single place at a single time. The Thanksgiving 5K took on a virtual format for the safety and comfort of its runners, and about 1,000 people participated. Things are getting back to normal this year, and so will the 5K—almost. While it’s back in person for 2021, the Trot will feature a rolling start so that everyone has plenty of personal space and feels comfortable participating. The virtual option remains, as well, if you prefer it.
No matter how you choose to join in the fun, rest assured you’ll be doing something good for your community as you do something good for your health! The Arlington Turkey Trot raises funds for local organizations such as the Arlington Food Assistance Center and Arlington Thrive’s emergency fund for “neighbors in need,” to name just a few. These nonprofits offer a hand to fellow community members who are down on their luck, and what better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than by joining that mission? So lace up your running shoes and come out on Thanksgiving morning to preemptively burn off that turkey for a good cause.
